TCEA, February 2022
One of my favorite presentations is How to Make Learning Stick, and I've written about retrieval practice in this post. At TCEA this year, my session was LIVE, live-streamed, and recorded for asynchronous learning, so it took a lot of design tricks to make the content and technology applicable for all audience members! I used this "thought catcher" as a container for all of the resources, including the session slides.
Learning Forward North TX, January 2022
My colleague Laura and I were thrilled to host a recent LFNTX meeting, and we chose to share some of our favorite ideas from The Art of Gathering. We utilized a station rotation model and included a HyperDoc for participants to access resources and to capture their ideas.
Secrets Behind...videos
In the fall of 2021, I participated in an online course where there was a special section for each module called "Secrets behind the module." There were short video and text explanations that described the intentionality behind decisions made (design and delivery) of the session materials and activities, and I loved learning and understanding these thought processes! For a recent "trainer-of-trainer" course, I created a series of short videos to explain my thinking and intentions behind parts of the workshop. The video below refers to priming participants and extending the learning through pre-emails.
Digital Learning Radio
I enjoy recording and producing our team's podcast! For season 10 (and continuing for season 11) my co-host Laura and I share what's inspiring us to learn, and in subsequent weeks, we discuss how we've integrated the new learning into our lives. Here's the playlist for Season 10, and you can find us on your favorite pod-catcher.
